Amelie Belcher

Artist

AMELIE “Ami-Chan” BELCHER was born in Baton-Bloody-Boring-Rouge Louisiana where the combination of chemical plant fumes and river water did major damage to her fragile little mind at an early age.  By all accounts, she started drawing at the age of five (when she figured out that the pencil goes on the paper and not up your nose) and didn’t stop drawing until she ran out of paper…twenty years latter.  Amelie taught high school art for four years, but lost interest in teaching when it started cutting into her drinking time.  She now travels the country selling her award winning art, doing one of a kind commissions for con goers, giving the best damn panels on earth, and being paid tribute to by her army of fans known as the “Ami Army” in the form of pocky and manga. Known as “the angriest chick on the net”, she is the creator of the popular web comic “The Real Life Adventures of Amelie” at Cordeval.com which is read by desperately bored people all around the world.  You can find out more about Amelie at www.cordeval.com.

Steve Bennett

Animator/Cartoonist

STEPHEN ROBERT BENNETT IV was born *&#@?! years ago at Tachikawa Air Force Base in Japan. After exstencive travles with his family in the milatary, the family moved back to Japan when Steve was in his teens, and while he was there he was lucky enough to land a job with Studio Aoehyma, and work under the great Japanese animator, Noboru Furusei (New Dominion Tank Police, Lupin III, etc.) During his time at Studio Aoehyma, worked on such titles as Cat's Eye, the Urusei Yatsura TV Series and Only You, as well as others.

He started up Studio Ironcat, a Japanese manga publisher, in 1997. Ironcat ran until 2004. Although Steve enjoyed his time with Ironcat, the job kept him too busy to focus on his own art. With the close of Ironcat, Steve was finally free to create his own comics, and get back into the artistic side of the industry. Today, Steve has two new webcomics on-line ("Shakespeare Rodeo" and "Life With Steve") and is finally letting his creative juices flow!

J*SCAPE

Band

Formed in 2005 with inspiration from Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad, Cesar, Shiro, Alexis, and Yoh all had a passion for music. As their affection for Japanese music grew, so did their song library. After being opened up to various artists by their new vocalist, Yuki, the band began to incorporate not only Anime theme songs but J-Rock artists as well. After coming off the high that was 2007, J*Scape is looking forward to rocking out in 2008 with a brand new look and sound!

J*Scape covers a plethora of artists, including but not limited to: Alice Nine, An Cafe, Dir en Grey, the Gazette, the Pillows, Nightmare, Asian Kung Fu Generation, and many others. Their shows are intense and fun, and even involve audience involvement for a few songs. If you come in cosplay as a character from an anime and we play a song from it, J*Scape will do their best to get you on stage and showcase your outfit.
